Get Certified
Here are some certification courses which we know will help you get a place at camp….
We want you if…
  • You are 19 years by 1st June. Being 19 and over helps with your placement chances. 18 year olds must be certified in one of the High Demand skills above and be available by June 5. We have no upper age limit.
  • You are an enthusiastic student, youth worker, teacher or just someone with specialist or childcare skills who is patient and caring.
  • You’re adaptable and flexible, prepared to ‘put in’ and give your ‘all’.
  • You have no criminal record and agree for us to order a criminal record check on your behalf.
  • You can supply two referees that meet our criteria that testify to your suitability for the role.
  • You have a passport that is valid for 3 months after your return date.
  • You are available to leave NZ before June 20 for at least nine weeks until August 20.
Skills less sought after
  • Soccer is not a skill you will be able to teach at camp because all the UK participants who apply for soccer have FAA Coaching qualifications. But we have placed Kiwis teaching soccer who have demonstrated they have coaching experience here in NZ.
  • Drama is not a high demand skill – do not focus on drama as your main skill if you want to have a good chance of placement.
  • Arts & Crafts unless you have some teaching experience in this area.
Remember – you are teaching children – not Olympic level – so if you think you can teach a child how to do It – you’ll probably be perfect for Camp.
